The already worldwide known INTERNATIONAL CHORAL COMPETITION AVE VERUM will go into its 4th edition, taking place from May 31 – June 2, 2019 in the city of Baden.
Our international guests from eleven participating choirs will be welcomed by our local choirs during the MEET & GREET CONCERT on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Congress Casino Baden. It is a nice tradition to greet our guest by singing a song in their native language. After the concert we invite our guests to a special fireworks at the nearby KURPARK.
The competition will start on Saturday, June 1st, 2019, at 10 am at the Congress Casino with part A – part A1 from 10 am to 12:30pm and part A2 from 2pm to 3:45pm. The competition is open to the public, the admission is free.
The LONG NIGHT OF CHORAL MUSIC is going to start on Saturday night at 7:30 pm at the church St. Stephan. All participating choirs from Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Russian Federation,Sweden, Ukraine, USA, the Philippines and Austria will sing a short program in two separate concerts. During the 30 minute break the audience can get a drink or a snack in front of the church provided by KIWANIS CLUB BADEN. At the end of the concert all choirs will join in into Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus” which was not only composed in Baden but also first ever performed in this church back in 1791. The audience will be asked to vote for their favorite choir for the “Audience Award”. Free admission.
The five choirs with the highest points given by the international jury will get the approval to sing in part B, the GRAND PRIX AVE VERUM, on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 at 11am at the Congress Casino. The GRAND PRIX winner will be the choir with the highest ranking from Parts A and Part B. Free admission.
On Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 the international choirs not participating in the GRAND PRIX and all local choirs are invited to appear at the PUBLIC SINGING, taking place in KURPARK at 11am.
All given prizes will be announced during the AWARD CEREMONY on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 at 3 pm at the Congress Casino Baden. We expect distinguished guests, among them the province governor and the mayor of Baden. Free admission.
